Checking your DirectX version
To check which version of DirectX you have installed perform the following steps:
-
Click on Start and then Run...
-
Enter dxdiag and click the OK button.
-
The DirectX Diagnostics Tool will now load and run. It takes a while to scan your system but eventually you will see the System Information results.
-
Displayed at the bottom of the list is the DirectX Version. It should read DirectX 9.0c *
-
You can also check how much memory your video card has from this tool. Click on the Display tab (alternatively labelled Display 1 in a multi-monitor environment). The approximate available memory is displayed in the Device section of the window.
-
Click the Exit button when you are finished.
* At the time of writing 9.0c is the most recent release. If you have a more recent version then you should have no problems. If you have any earlier version (9.0b or less) then you must upgrade before FPS Creator will run.
